How to Organize Closet Storage for Men
Published on April 25th, 2011.
Men by nature are not really organized. From prehistoric times men were conditioned to be hunters and not home makers. So instead of arguing with your husband or your son in keeping their closets organized, you can save time and energy by designing their closet storage for them.
Men’s clothing is basically simple and nothing as complicated as women. It is generally categorized as pants, shirts, men’s undergarments. If you take a survey of a man’s closet you will find it will be easy to organize their clothes in this manner. I personally segregate clothing according to style. I put all the T-shirts together neatly folded, long and short sleeved polo shirts on hangers along with slacks and jeans, shorts are also folded in one pile, while the socks, underpants, ties, handkerchiefs all grouped together.
Since there are no long dresses or oversized coats to deal with, I redesigned my man’s closet to have two clothes racks. The second rack is positioned on the middle portion of the cabinet. This gives him enough hanger space for his shirts and pants. Then, I added more drawers assigning a specific drawer for his folded shirts, shorts and underwear. Now my husband’s closet doesn’t look like mayhem every time he opens it to pull out a specific item of clothing.
